How do I print a Texinfo file?

NOTE: You can't get nice printed output from Info files; you must still have the original Texinfo source file for the manual you want to print.

  1. Make sure the first line of the Texinfo file looks like this:
      \input texinfo

You may need to alter `texinfo' to the full pathname of the texinfo.tex file, which comes with Emacs as man/texinfo.tex (or copy or link it into the current directory).
  2. tex XXX.texinfo
  3. texindex XXX.?? The `texindex' program comes with Emacs as man/texindex.c.
  4. tex XXX.texinfo
  5. Print the DVI file XXX.dvi in the normal way for printing DVI files at your site.

To get more general instructions, retrieve the latest Texinfo package mentioned in section How do I install a piece of Texinfo documentation?.
