Checklist for the draft of the paper†
tube42 is back (2012.1.30)
- person in charge: nugraha, helped by hasdeo and tapsanit
- target: move motherboard of oldflex which is originally tube42's motherboard
procedures†
- preparation:
- check the components of tube42: harddisk OK, power supply OK, special shaped cable OK, LED cable is matched with the other tube40's series
- oldflex is turned off
- remove all cables from the old flex box
- remove the motherboard from the old flex
- the empty box is kept at room 947
- tube42 box is taken from tube40 big box
- fan is turned off, other tube is turned off
- motherboard can be put on the tube42 box
- problem: oldflex motherboard screws do not match with the tube42 box
- solution: use the appropriate screws from room 947 -> OK
- plug in all the necessary cables correctly (HD, power, LED)
- put again the tube42 box above tube41
- connect network cable, display cable, mouse, keyboard.
- turn on all the machines and fan.
- close the box.
- how to check it works?
- from tube42:
log in with root or your account
- from flex
ssh tube42
- cpu fan checking
- log in as root in tube42
- type following command to check initial temperature of all cpus
sensors
- open another terminal, then log in to tube42 using your account
- run the program in your account
- in the previous terminal, type the same command to monitor the temperature while the program is running.
- check the temperature of cpu when the program is finished, the temperature should decrease indicating that the heat is being moved out from the cpu.
- following is the result of checking: The temperature of all cpus is recorded after running of exciton program for 30 min. (+30). When the program is stopped for 30 min (-30), the temperature is also recorded. The decreasing of temperature of cpu indicates that the cpu fan is working correctly.
